Welcome back for another week. As we get slightly further into 2012, the album releases from week to week just keep growing and this week’s edition is the biggest yet!

Just below is news about artists such as Dragonforce, The Used, The Dead Leaves, Mick Thomas, Skrillex, Common, White Rabbits and so, so many more! Here we go....

DEADMAU5

Acclaimed electro and house producer deadmau5 will be releasing a live DVD filmed at the Rogers Centre in Toronto last year. Meowingtons Hax 2k11 Toronto DVD boasts a best-of setlist whilst including some unreleased tracks. The DVD is set for a February 24th release.

VICIOUS CUTS 2012

Melbourne’s Vicious Recordings is set to bring you Vicious Cuts 2012, featuring 42 dance and club tracks mixed by Ian Carey, Vandalism and Angger Dimas. The two disc set boasts some of the biggest songs on the dance floors around the world. The compilation is to be released on March 2nd.

THE RUMJACKS

The first signings to new ABC Music imprint label FOUR | FOUR, The Rumjacks, have released the single ‘Crosses For Eyes’ from their upcoming second album. The single comes just in time for their St. Patrick’s Day Tour in March. The album is due out later this year.



HILLTOP HOODS

Adelaide hip hop group Hilltop Hoods have teamed up with Triple J Unearthed to bring you a new and unreleased track which will be available to remix for a competition via the Unearthed website. The tune is titled ‘Now That You’re Gone’ and the track’s stems are available to budding producers and MCs who wish to enter the competition. The best of the best will be judged by Hilltops themselves and Unearthed with the winner nabbing a HH merch pack and the chance to meet the guys backstage on their upcoming tour.

WHITE RABBITS

Brooklyn indie rockers White Rabbits will release their third full-length via Mute on the 9th March. The album is titled Milk Famous and was produced by Mike McCarthy. The video for killer first single ‘Heavy Metal’ can be viewed here:



ROCCO DELUCA

LA-based blues artist Rocco DeLuca will release his first album as a solo artist, Drugs and Hymns, on March 9th. Having led Rocco DeLuca and the Burden until 2009, DeLuca dissolved the band has now stepped out on his own.

HOPES DIE LAST

Rome metallers Hopes Die Last will release their second album Trust No One on the 13th February (European release date). Among eleven new, original songs, the album features a cover of the Katy Perry mega-hit ‘Firework’ and a collaboration with producer Nekso.

PRIMAL ROCK REBELLION

The collaboration between Iron Maiden guitarist Adrian Smith and ex-SikTh frontman Mikee Goodman has been given a name: Primal Rock Rebellion. The debut album is due for release on the 2nd March. To hear a a preview of the album, head to the band’s website http://www.primalrockrebellion.com where the track ‘I See Lights’ is available for download.

LOST IN THE TREES

North Carolina musicians Lost In The Trees will be releasing their second album on March 16th. To be released via Anti-Records, A Church That Fits Our Needs was recorded by ‘head’ of the collective, Ari Picker and mixed by Rob Schnapf.

ALTER BRIDGE

To be released just ahead of their appearance at the Soundwave Festival, Alter Bridge will be releasing an updated version of their 2010 album AB III. The album, titled AB 3.5, will feature three new songs and an hour-long documentary on the band.

SAY ANYTHING

The fourth album album by LA punk outfit Say Anything is due for release on March 16th. Titled Anarchy, My Dear, the album is one of the most highly anticipated albums of 2012.

FUSHIA

Electro-rockers Fushia have announced their second EP, Open Invite, will be released March 17th. The EP was recorded at the iconic Studio 301 in Sydney with Jeff Lovejoy and includes the singles ‘Brunswick St.’ and ‘Mood Swing’.

FLYING NUN RECORDS

Out now via Flying Nun Records and Remote Control is the ‘Best Of’ compilation from several of Flying Nun Records’ acts. Tally Ho! Flying Nun’s Greatest Bits showcases songs from artists that have released music with the Flying Nun label over the last 30 years.

TANLINES

Eric Emm and Jesse Cohen make up the duo that is Tanlines. Said to be influenced by New Order and Stock Aitken Waterman, they will be releasing their debut album, Mixed Emotions, on March 16th.

CEREMONY

Californian punk rockers Ceremony will release their fourth album (their first for the Matador label) on March 3rd. The album is titled Zoo and is set to be their most progressive record yet.

CLAG

Brisbane cult band Clag will release Pasted Youth via Chapter Music. The album is a 23-track reissue from the 90’s band and will be available March 9th.

VIGO THIEVES

Having released their first EP just last year, Vigo Thieves have been busy writing and will release a two-part EP titled Heart & Soul on March 5th. Heart & Soul (Part 1) will come first with Part 2 set to be released later in the year.

MODERN DAY ESCAPE

Returning with their second album, Ohio rockers Modern Day Escape will release Under The Gun on March 26th via Standby Records.

STORM CORROSION

Steven Wilson of Porcupine and Mikael Akerfeldt of Opeth have teamed up to form Storm Corrosion. Having recently signed to Roadrunner Records, the pair will release their debut self-titled album on April 20th.

MEMORYHOUSE

After signing with the iconic Sub Pop label, duo Memoryhouse are set to release their highly anticipated album, The Slideshow Effect, on February 24th.

HERE WE GO MAGIC

A Different Ship, the third album by Brooklyn indie rock band Here We Go Magic and due for release in May. The album will be released on the Secretly Canadian label through Inertia, an exact release date will be announced in the coming weeks.

DUMBSAINT

Sydney instrumental act Dumbsaint will release their first single on February 14th through Bird’s Robe Records. The single will be available to download for free from the Bird’s Robe band camp site.

BUTTERFLY BOUCER

Ahead of her album release date of April 13th, Australian singer-songwriter Butterfly Boucer will drop her new single ‘5678’ on February 17th via MGM.

TRIPLE J

On February 24th, the Triple J Hottest 100 Vol. 19 will be released. The two disc compilation features music from Hilltop Hoods, Lana Del Rey, Matt Corby and many, many more.

ESPERANZA SPALDING

Radio Music Society is the fourth album from jazz and pop musician Esperanza Spalding. February 24th will see the record released to eager fans.

CHARLOTTE GAINSBOURG

Singer/actress Charlotte Gainsbourg is set to release Stage Whisper, on February 24th. The double album features live and unreleased tracks and also a DVD documentary filmed on her 2010 tour.

DJANGO DJANGO

The hotly anticipated album from Edinburgh quartet Django Django will finally be released on February 24th. Titled Default, the group has been hailed by The Guardian as ‘the best band you’ll hear in 2012’.

ESTELLE

After winning a Grammy Award for her debut album ‘Shine’, Estelle returns with her second album, All Of Me. To be released on February 24th, the album will feature singles ‘Break My Heart (feat. Rick Ross)’ and ‘Thank You’.

FANFARLO

The follow-up to Fanfarlo’s 2009 debut is set to be released on February 24th. Rooms Filled With Light will see the band expand on musical territory first explored on ‘Reservoir’.

YANN TIERSEN

French musician Yann Tiersen will release his seventh album, entitled Skyline, on April 13th. The album is said to expand on the sounds of his previous release ‘Dust Lane’.

MICK THOMAS

Stepping out on his own, Mick Thomas will release his first true solo album after recording as Mick Thomas & The Sure Thing for a few years. The album is titled Last of the Tourists and will be released on March 16th via Liberation Music.

DR DOG

Philadelphia rock ‘n roll band Dr Dog will drop their new album on March 16th. Be The Void is the sixth album from the sextet.

CHANCE WATERS

Formerly known as Phatchance, Chance Waters is releasing the first single and video from his upcoming album Infinity. The single is the title track to the album and will be released some time in February with the album dropping in July.

THE USED

Emo-rockers The Used are back with their fifth album, titled Vulnerable. The record is due for release on March 27th and fans can currently pre-order it on the Hopeless Records website.

KORN / SKRILLEX

With the release of Korn’s tenth studio album The Path of Totality, the band have teamed up with Skrillex to lend his skills on a few different tracks. ‘Get Up!’, ‘Narcissistic Cannibal’ and ‘Chaos Lives In Everything’ on the album all feature the dubstep artist.
Both artists currently have new records available now.

COMMON

Grammy Award-winning artist Common has just released his epic ninth album through Warner Music. The Dreamer, The Believer is the first album since his 2008 album ‘Universal Mind Control’ and is out now.

TANGO IN THE ATTIC

Scottish quartet Tango In The Attic will deliver their sophomore album on April 12th. The album has yet to be named but fans can get a taste of what the record will sound like by checking out the video for first single ‘Swimming Pool’.



CHAD VANGAALEN / XIU XIU

This split 12” record is part of the Green Corridor releases that will, over time, be four releases that create one piece of art. This release is a split between Chad Vangaalen and Xiu Xiu and is simply titled The Green Corridor II. The record will be available on March 17th.

KRIS MENACE

Electronic producer Kris Menace has released the first single from his forthcoming album. The track is titled ‘Falling Star’ and will be featured on the album Electric Horizon, due for release on April 6th.



LANCELOT

Sydney house producer Lance Gurisik, aka Lancelot, is set to release his debut EP , We Can Dance, through Binary Records on the 20th February.

DAY ON FIRE

Adelaide quartet Day On Fire have released their lead single, titled ‘Emergency’ from their debut full-length, Apologies & Ghosts, which will be released later in the year.

IAN ANDERSON

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Jethro Tull album ‘Thick As A Brick’, Ian Anderson of the group will be releasing a ‘sequel’ to the album on March 20th. Thick As A Brick 2 will be released in a number of different and special packages that fans will surely love.
